Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer to Tender and negotiate value for money contracts, for goods and services within an established Local Authority.
The ideal candidate will have solid skills as a Buyer within procurement to undertake the following duties:
* Investigate, plan and implement reverse auctions with our Auction provider
* Assist Council staff in developing pre-reverse auction specification and bid
analysis methods
* Appraise suppliers and implement continuous improvement steps into contract
monitoring
* Assist in writing the policies and procedures manual for the Council
* Support the Best Value programme by advising on procurement across a range
of services
* Develop business cases including managing risk
* Assist in the introduction of e-procurement and procurement cards
You must have a strong background in procurement and experience of sourcing suppliers and negotiating and placing of contracts.
