This role is to work with the UK's leading charity in the fight against homelessness. Based in a regional Advice Centre, you will provide a range of consultancy and direct services to agencies and individuals. The Advice team deliver a housing advice service, through drop-in and telephone work; further access to housing advice is delivered through local advice surgeries.
This Centre also works with the Prison Service, providing second tier advice, consultancy and training services to prison staff and peer groups.
You will set objectives and targets for Advisors that enable the service delivery to meet its targets, provide regular supervision, support and appraisal. You will provide a SQM level of on-going legal and other advice and advocacy to clients and take appropriate action. You will make representation on behalf of clients to a variety of external agencies and authorities.
To apply, you must have previous staff management experience as well as excellent knowledge of social welfare law and a sound track record in delivering an advice and advocacy service.
