We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor for a Housing Association in Leicester. The main function of the role is to improve the maintenance function of the housing stock and implement long term strategies which will enable the stock to be successfully maintained to a required level.

The main areas of responsibility will be Responsive Maintenance, Asset Management and Quality Control.

As one of the Building Surveyors you will be expected to carry out pre and post inspections to ensure work is being carried out the the required standards. You will issue works, manage the progress and ensure completion within set timescales. You will be required to write detailed specifications, ensuring these comply to all current building regulations and also comply with the Association's best value policy. You will help to appoint and manage external contractors, ensuring value for money and quality of work. It will also be your responsibility to respond to customer complaints and liaise with both residents and contractors to resolve such issues.

You will have an involvement with a variety of specialist areas, including Asbestos Management, Aids & Adaptations, Disrepair, Insurance Claims and Stock Condition Surveys.

You will be expected to work within set KPIs and achieve, if not exceed all targets set. You must be able to work independently and as part of a large extended team. You must be computer literate and have the motivation to manage your own workload effectively.

To be considered for this role you must hold an HNC in Construction or equivalent. You must have knowledge of Health and Safety CDM regulations, an understanding of budgets and be conversant in Building Regulations. Ideally you will have experience of a similar role and of diagnosing defects.
