Our Liverpool based client requires a part-time Benefits Maximisation Officer for up to 6 months.
Working 14 hours per week the successful candidate will provide a comprehensive benefit support service for the public to enable them to obtain their full benefit entitlement, thus contributing to reduced levels of poverty and deprivation within the city.
Key duties will include:
- Management of an individual case load to Specialist Quality Mark Standards - Provision of in depth advice to members of the public on a wide range of welfare benefits, by interview, letter, home visit, telephone and surgeries at One Stop Shops - Negotiation with utilities companies, benefits and other agencies to resolve customer problems - Advice and assistance to customers with certain priority debt, referring to Debt Advisers when necessary - Advocacy on behalf of customers through written requests for reconsideration of benefit decisions - Preparation and presentation of cases for customers at Appeal Tribunal
