£10,000 PA HONORARIUM • LONDON/COVENTRY
3 YEARS PART TIME (3 DAYS PER MONTH)
The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors is the leading independent professional body supporting teachers, lecturers, workplace assessors and the external assessment community in good assessment practice. Every year we provide tools, resources and information to develop the knowledge, skills and capability of over tens of thousands of individuals in assessment.
Since the appointment of our chair to Ofqual, the CIEA is looking to recruit a new Chair to provide strategic direction for the Chartered Institute, leading the Board of Trustees including managing board meetings, and providing a focal point for the organisation.
Whereas a background and experience in education is desirable but not essential, the suitable candidate will be an individual with an excellent track record at a senior level of providing leadership to complex organisations operating in high profile and political environments.
Key responsibilities include managing a wide range of stakeholder relationships, responsibility for the strategic direction of the organisation, assisting with the appointment of Trustees and the senior management team, and overseeing the finances of the Chartered Institute.
This is a 3 year part time role with a commitment of up to 3 days each month and will attract an honorarium of £10,000 per annum.
The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA) are moving from London to new headquarters in Coventry during 2009. There will be a requirement for travel between London and Coventry for which agreed expenses will be reimbursed.
As this is an honorarium appointment, CIEA will not offer a relocation package at the point where CIEA moves permanently to Coventry.
