Parking Jobs: typical responsibilities
Whilst there are a variety of parking jobs which all have different specialist requirements, there are fundamental responsibilities and requirements across them all:
- Responding to and promptly addressing written & telephone enquiries from the public
- Providing excellent customer service through being efficient, accurate and factual on a variety of parking matters
- Updating and proactively maintaining databases
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors and third party agencies when necessary
- Employ existing IT systems for enquiry management, information provision and administrative system access
- Ability to multitask under challenging timescales
- Knowledge of parking related issues, such as parking legislation and the Parking & Traffic Appeals Service
- Note: There would be additional responsibilities from Parking Manager Jobs
What qualifications do I need to work in the Parking Services?
Specific qualifications may be required depending on the type of parking job for which you are applying. It is preferable that applicants for all parking jobs have previous experience working within the public sector, as well as previous experience in face-to-face or telephone-based (call centre) customer service.
Salary:
- The hourly rate for parking jobs vary between £9 and £12 per hour for Administrator Assistant jobs; £10.50 and £12 per hour for Correspondence, Parking and Customer Services jobs; and £20 to £23 for Project Management and Parking Manager jobs.
- Most Parking jobs are contract, temporary or freelance, so salaries can be variable.
