As the Communications Officer you will manage the local authorities relationship with the media, undertake a proactive and reactive work ethic to deliver agreed outcomes. You will also be supporting the Press Manager and the Head of Communications in improving the councils corporate communications reputation and image. In line with the above duties you will develop and implement effective communications strategies for a particular department.
In order to be considered for this role you must demonstrate clearly on your CV that you have the following skills and experience. Recognised marketing, communications or journalism qualification. Significant experience in working in media or public relations, including liaison with journalists on sensitive issues. Experience of managing and devising successful communications campaigns using the whole marketing mix. Management of various projects at one time . Excellent communication skills.
