Auditor Job Description:

• Checking financial records of a company to verify it’s financial status
• Analysing accounting records, including an of the following: monies payable and receivable, invoicing, cancelled cheques, credit notes, purchasing, payroll, petty cash and expenses
• Report any anomalies
• Prepare financial analysis report
• Suggest improvements and recommendations where necessary to improve the company’s financial system

Working Environment:

You will be working at the clients sites, so will be traveling around a little. Sometimes there is an option to work from home, but mostly you would need to visit the client site.

What qualifications / training do I need to work in Audit?

You should be educated to at least degree level in Accountancy or related subject. Some employers will prefer a Masters degree or MBA. If you are looking for qualified Auditor job roles, you will need to have one or more of the following qualifications:

• CIMA: Chartered Institute of Management Accountancy
• ACA: Association of Chartered Accountancy
• ACCA: Certified Chartered Accountants
• CIPFA: The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
• IIA: Institute of Internal Auditors

What personal attributes do I need to work in Audit?

    • Analytical
    • Excellent Mathematic skills
    • Excellent IT skills
    • Good written skills for reports 

• Ability to work well on your own
• Ability to work well unsupervised
• Good attention to detail 
• Discretion and honesty

Salary Details:

• Part Qualified Auditor (in training) - salary can vary from £18,000 to £25,000*
• Qualified Auditor – salary can vary from £30,000 to £45,000*
• Chief Auditor / Senior and Management Roles – salary can vary from £50,000 to £70,000*
