The Client is seek a candidate for thbelow:
Accountable to: Home Manager
Accountable for: Team Leaders, Housekeepers, Handyperson
Key responsibilities:
Management
? To deputise for the Home Manager in their absence.
? To support the development and delivery of the Business Plan, assisting with controlling expenditure, marketing the home, and maintaining occupancy.
? To assist in the smooth operation of the home in accordance with Anchor?s policies, the National Care Standards, and other legislation directly affecting the home and its residents.
? To support the maintenance of agreed income and expenditure levels.
? To work with the Senior Team to ensure effective recruitment, supervision, and training of staff in accordance with Anchor?s Equal Opportunities and other Human Resources policies.
? To be responsible for the effective delivery of the home?s rota ensuring adequate staffing levels in accordance with NCSC standards.
? To ensure the home?s fixtures, fittings and d?cor are kept well maintained, supervising repairs and purchases as required, providing a safe and secure environment for residents.
? To assist the Home Manager to comply with Health & Safety legislation and Anchor?s policies.
? To be involved in the internal quality assessment/verification process, travelling to other homes as required.
? To act as NVQ assessor/verifier as required.
? To attend regional meetings as required.
? To undertake and deliver induction and other training, as required by Anchor, and follow the guidance received.
? To maintain confidentiality in accordance with Anchor?s procedures.
? To undertake on-call and/or "sleep-in" duties as required.
? To delegate appropriate areas of work.
Care Delivery
? To support the effective implementation of the care planning and delivery process, ensuring all National Care Standards and Anchor standards are met.
? To be responsible for the delivery of social activity within the home, and ensuring residents are able to participate in chosen activities in their local community.
? To maintain high standards of care practice, and report any incidences of suspected poor practice or abuse in line with Anchor?s Rights and Responsibilities.
Customer Focus
? To assist in the design, development and delivery of the service based on customer needs and expectations.
? To promote a positive professional image by effective communication within the home and with external agencies.
? To respond to complaints in line with procedure as required.
? To maintain the home as a pleasant, friendly and secure place to live.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
Experience
? Proven Care background and staff management experience with NVQ3 Health & Social Care or working towards.
? Knowledge of managing a budget and working to a Business Plan.
? Experience of working with and empathising with older people.
? Full understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Care Homes for older people and their impact in care and management practice.
? Current knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and application of Health and Safety practice.
? Experience in the management, development and recruitment of staff including handling conflict, disciplinary action etc.
? Effective use of staff resources, including Anchor support services.
? Demonstrate awareness of different values/cultures amongst residents and staff.
? Knowledge of Equal Opportunities and employment legislation.
? Uses IT skills effectively to meet the demands of own workload and seeks to maximise the use of IT systems to enhance service delivery in future.
Skills and abilities
? Organises time, prioritises activities and uses available resources to ensure tasks are completed to deadline and in accordance with business priorities.
? Articulate, communicates clearly and confidently both in one to one and group situations
