Our client based in North West London is looking for a CIPD qualified HR Advisor to help during restructuring in their Housing Department.

The purpose of this position is to provide a professional, high quality business-focused Human Resources service to the Housing Resource centre function, which supports the achievement of the department's service objectives and support the Strategic Human Resources Manager in delivery of organisational change and service improvement across the departmen

Your main Accountabilities and Responsibilities will include;

Provision of advice to managers on application of the Clients employment practices, pay and conditions of service, and on the legal and best practice implications of employment issues;
Supporting and, as appropriate, undertaking casework on a wide range of human resources issues, including discipline, capability, absence and grievance;
Supporting departmental change management activities, including reorganisations and workforce remodelling, aligning outcomes with the needs of the services and with strategic objectives and legal obligations;
Building successful partnership working with the trade unions;
Advising managers on specific recruitment and retention initiatives to attract and retain skilled employees in ‘shortage' posts;
Establishing productive and proactive dialogue with employees and their representatives to develop services, facilitate change, resolve conflict and promote a positive working environment;
Liaison with the Occupational Health provider on employee health and welfare issues.
Support the development and implementation of the Council's Human Resources Strategy, policies and initiatives e.g. Best Value, performance management, flexible working systems, and employee development.
Work collaboratively with corporate and departmental human resources teams to identify scope for co-ordinated approaches to organisation and employee development.
Participate in the collation of management information including processing the staff survey to inform human resources service developments. Make recommendations for changes to service delivery and development of new initiatives based on trend analysis and experience.
Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of continuous learning and development strategies to improve the quality of the Department's workforce and to respond to organisational change.
Advise, coach and support managers on the full range of human resources management issues to develop their capabilities and skills around people management.
Provide consistent, open and ongoing communication on all Human Resources issues across the Department, the wider Council, and the People Centre.
Work collaboratively on corporate human resources projects as required.
Keep abreast of Human Resources best practice, legislative changes and new developments to continuously develop and improve knowledge and skills and broaden the understanding of inter-relationships between the range of human resources activities and functions.
Undertake the duties and responsibilities within the broad remit of the Council's corporate policies and procedures including Customer Care, Equalities and Diversity and Best Value policies, and the Council's Core Competencies.
