Our client based in West London is looking for an experience Schools HR Officer, to help with an increased work load.
As a member of the HR Operations Schools team you will provide a quality HR service to the Schools, including recruitment, pay and conditions, sickness absence management,policy and procedure query resolution
1 Job Purpose: Provide a professional, high quality business-focussed Human Resources service to the Authority, which supports the achievement of the department's service objectives. Working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures; To assist in the provision of the highest quality service in line with the Council's vision and values.
Identify and promote best practice for HR managers. To have an excellent understanding of the integrated IT system for payroll and HR. Provide detailed advise on a range of complex HR issues and give expert advice in relation to disciplinary action, grievance, sickness and recruitment, interpretation of HR policies and workforce strategies. Incorporate changes into HR practice as a result of employment legislation or improved technical systems. Manage a caseload of transactional processes i.e. recruitment campaigns sickness cases CRB checks overtime etc. Support, and advise Line manager at an appropriate level in relation to sickness matters Awareness of impact of business planning on service. Contribute to policies and procedures that support Council wide initiatives, which deliver the Council's business plans, targets and strategies. Monitor and continually update HR knowledge by keeping abreast of changes to legislation, policy and procedure, evidence based practice. Provide innovative services to stakeholders ensuring cost efficiency and effectiveness, whilst meeting operational requirements. Ensure equality and diversity is underpinned in all areas of the HR services provided. Support and participate on training development and delivery in such areas as recruitment, induction, employee relations, and specific HR projects Ensure the effective use of IT systems, maintaining up to date data. Provide high quality, professional advisory services to all departments and schools on all aspects of Human Resources, to include: • provision of advice to managers on application of the Council's employment practices, pay and conditions of service • supporting and, as appropriate, undertaking casework on a wide range of human resources issues, including absence, disciplinary and grievance • supporting departmental change management activities, including reorganisations and workforce remodelling, aligning outcomes with the needs of the services and with strategic objectives and legal obligations; • building successful partnership working with the trade unions;
Required Skills MCIPD or equivactively/Studying/Substantial experience Must have recent schools HR experience Working knowledge of current employment and relevant legislation Experience of working in an HR depart in a customer focused organisation Worked as a team member to meet deadlines and achieve objectives Proven track record of providing clear, balanced HR advice and guidance Use of computerised HR system, databases,WP,spreadsheets Continually strives to improve the customer experience Resilient under pressure, balances conflicting priorities
