The Client is urgently seeking candiates for the below:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
?To be accountable for the smooth operation of the home in accordance with Anchor?s policies, the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and other legislation directly affecting the home and its residents.
?To be accountable for the implementation and maintenance of all quality standards.
?To be responsible for the development and delivery of the Business Plan, controlling the use of resources, effectively marketing the home and maintaining occupancy.
?To develop an annual budget in accordance with Anchor?s guidelines and maintain agreed income and expenditure levels.
?To ensure effective recruitment, supervision, and training of staff in accordance with Anchor?s Equal Opportunities and other Human Resources policies.
?To be accountable for the effective delivery of the home?s rota ensuring adequate staffing levels in accordance with CSCI.
?To ensure the home?s fixtures, fittings and d?cor are kept well maintained, managing repairs and purchases as required, providing a safe and secure environment for residents.
?To be accountable for the compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Anchor?s policies.
?To be involved in the internal quality assessment/verification process, travelling to other homes as required.
?To act as NVQ Assessor/Verifier as required.
?To attend regional meeting as required.
?To undertake and deliver induction and other training, as required by Anchor, and follow the guidance received.
?To provide management information monthly as required.
?To maintain confidentiality in accordance with Anchor?s procedures.
?To undertake on-call and/or ?sleep-in? duties as required.
?To delegate appropriate areas of work.
Care Delivery
? To be accountable for the effective implementation and maintenance of the care planning and delivery process, ensuring all CSCI and Anchor standards are met.
?To be accountable for the delivery of social activity within the home and ensuring residents are able to participate in chosen activities in their local community.
?To maintain high standards of care practise, and report any incidences or suspected poor practise or abuse in line with Anchor?s Rights and Responsibilities.
Customer Focus
?To design, develop and deliver the service based on customer needs and expectations.
?To identify and develop links with appropriate professionals, e.g. registration officers, GP?s, local authority representatives, involved in the care of residents and ensure residents have access to health and welfare services.
?To promote a positive professional image by effective communication within the home and with external agencies.
?To manage complaints in line with procedure.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
Experience
?Proven Home Management experience with NVQ4 Health & Social Care or RMA qualification or equivalent/ first level registered nurse within a Nursing Home.
?Experience of managing a budget and working to a Business Plan.
?Experience of working with and empathising with older people.
?Full understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Care Homes for older people and their impact in care and management practice.
?Current knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and application of Health and Safety practice.
?Experience in the management, development and recruitment of staff including handling conflict, disciplinary action etc
?Effective use of staff resources, including Anchor support services.
?Demonstrate awareness of different values/cultures amongst residents and staff.
?Knowledge of Equal Opportunities and employment legislation
?Uses IT skills effectively to meet the demands of own workload and seeks to maximise the use of IT systems to enhance service delivery in future
