Project Worker job description: typical responsibilities
- Assisting in developing support plans
- Carrying out risk assessments, health and safety checks
- A good standard of IT skills-word, excel.
- Have experience of dealing with the public in a customer service role.
- Some roles will require you to work with people which are homeless, have mental health, drug or alcohol problems and other venerable people.
- You may be Working within probation / re-offending services or hostels, housing and supported housing
- You will also be working through existing support plans, and promoting independence as much as possible.
- You may visit tenants within their own tenancies compiling support plans, developing and maintaining the support plans, carrying out risk assessments and key working with the individuals.
- The ability to use your own initiative but also be able to work well as part of a team as you may be liaising with other organisations and assisting service users in accessing additional support services
- You should ideally have a clean drivers licence although this is not essential
What qualifications do I need to work as a Project Worker?
There are no specific academic qualifications required for project worker jobs however a qualification in social care, or similar would be advantageous. Any previous experience dealing with people with mental health issues, the homeless, in supported housing, sheltered housing or as a housing officer can also help with your application. A full clean driving license and a current enhanced disclosure CRB check are often essential requirements.
Salary Details
- The salary for project workers is usually between £8-£15 per hour, this however can vary depending on many factors: location, permanent or contract position and if you are working shifts.
- Pay will increase with experience
