IPI Business Analyst – London/Vauxhall – 12 months

Role Definition and Skills Required
The role is required for a full time business analyst resource to work within a force-wide programme aimed at improving the policing information management capability of the MPS.
The post holder will work as part of a team of business and systems analysts with the objective of designing process and technology solutions that deliver policing benefits.
The responsibilities include the following:

Conduct current state analysis of policing processes and systems and associated policies and procedures. Develop and manage programme and project level requirements using an industry standard requirements management application. Work closely with other business analysts and systems analysts to facilitate workshops and support the development of strategic and tactical solutions. Assist the development of strategies for business engagement and workshops/focus groups with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). Work with SMEs and domain representatives to validate process, data and systems solutions. Assist the development of a business blueprint detailing process, systems and policy changes. Assist the development of options papers and business cases. Present the results of analysis and providing briefings to senior management. Liaise with other police forces and partner agencies as required.
Skills/Experience Required:

Business process mapping skills.
Experience in workshop facilitation and SME engagement.
Experience/knowledge of analysis case tools/methodologies (hands-on experience using Telelogic Systems Architect or similar package is an advantage).
Presentation and effective communication skills are essential.
Although not directly technical, technical/computer literacy is important for this role.
Minimum 4 years experience working on large-scale business change programmes is essential.
Previous experience working on policing and or/ criminal justice projects/programmes is important.
