Eden Brown are currently recruiting an Illegal Eviction Harassment and Prevention Officer for a South Yorkshire based Local Authority.
The post holder will advise and assist tenants of rented property who are threatened with illegal eviction and or harassment.
The officer will work closely with the Landlord Liaison Officer and the rest of the Private Sector Housing team to reduce the level of illegal eviction and harassment that is occurring in the Borough.
This reduction will be achieved by advising and supporting tenants who are experiencing illegal eviction and or harassment and prosecuting landlords who commit illegal eviction and harassment.
The officer will also deliver an educational programme for landlords and tenants in conjunction with the Landlord Liaison Officer to inform landlords and tenants of their legal rights and obligations under the Housing Acts.
Candidates will have experience of working on Private Sector housing enforcement and / or tenancy relations issues. You will also have experience of investigating and preparing cases for prosecution , and experience of investigating and preparing cases for court including experience of PACE legislation.
It is essential candidates have a comprehensive understanding of housing law.
