Typical Childcare Lawyer Job description

• You will be working in childcare caseload which may include Care Proceedings, EPO’s, Interim Care Orders and other childcare matters
• Ability to work on your own as well as working as part of a team
• You will need to demonstrate excellent negotiation, communication and advocacy skills
• Undertaking your own advocacy as working as part of the council
• A good knowledge of child care law and family law
• You should be both professional yet compassionate, and have a passion for Childcare Law.

What qualifications do I need to work in Childcare Law?

For legal jobs in childcare law a legal qualifications such as a law degree and/or ILEX is essential. Previous work as a solicitor or lawyer or some experience in Childcare Law can help in your application. Previous experience working within a local authority for a legal public sector job is advantageous; however experience of legal work in the private sector can also help. For more senior positions you will need to be a qualified UK Solicitor or a common Jurisdiction preferably with Childcare experience. Some childcare solicitor jobs will require you to have Child Care Panel Membership.
