An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen at the Aldershot Garrison, for an Estates Mechanical Engineer.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the garrison mechanical infrastructure is maintained and operated in a safe manner, in accordance with statutory engineering practises.
Key responsibilities include -
Service Provision; Liaise with customers, the Authority, and other Service Providers, staff and public bodies as appropriate on design, maintenance, repair and refurbishment. Produce mechanical Preventative Planned Maintenance work sheets and schedules. Manage all mechanical sub contractors which will include chairing monthly meetings and producing the minutes of the meeting. Act as an Appointed Person for mechanical and other Health and Safety matters as delegated by the Garrison Estates Manager. General management of staff, tradesmen and specialists.
Skills include:
·An ability to manipulate large databases and spreadsheets.
·Proven ability to work in a team environment.
·Good interpersonal skills both internally and with customers.
·Have the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
·Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure.
·Ability to work with COSHH and with risk assessments.
·Financial and commercial awareness.
Candidates must be professionally qualified in mechanical engineering, and also have gained experience in managing commercial or government asset portfolios.
