Our client a well known health Charity is looking to employ a National ProgrammE Manager to ensure that the projects under the Delivering Choice Programme are developed to a high standard and delivered within agreed timescales and budgets, managing risks and ensuring the projects together combine to deliver the national strategic objectives and knowledge obtained is disseminated to ensure adaptation of solutions by the NHS across the UK.
The main responsibilities of the role National Programme Manager are:
- Working closely with National Programme Director & Research Advisor ensure the Programme delivers its objective
- To oversee the delivery and monitor the progress of work for all projects and make appropriate interventions to ensure success
- Managing expenditure and ensuring the programme remains within budget
- Prepare programme reports and presentations for the National Stakeholders Programme Board
- The recruitment and management of project managers and other project resources required for the delivery of the projects and Programme
- To provide performance information on the projects against the criteria previously agreed
The key criteria required for the post include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong programme/project management skills with the ability to influence change without direct management responsibilities
- A sound knowledge of a formal programme management methodology
- Experience managing large change programmes with substantial budgets/projects
- Prince 2 or an Equivalent project management qualification would be desirable
