Job role:
As an integral member of the Senior Team with our Home, you will contribute to the provision of a quality service in the home. Your role will include ensuring a quality catering service is planned and delivered to meet the needs of residents, in line with health, safety and hygiene requirements.
The food needs to be served to the highest standard and within agreed specification and costs. Part of your role will be to seek innovation and cost effective ways of delivering service enhancements.
You will meet with residents and relatives on a regular and as required basis to discuss the catering service and action as appropriate. You will also be involved in welcoming new residents, discussing specific dietary requirements within 48 hours of arrival.
The Person:
You’ll need a flexible attitude to work, able to work without direct supervision and on your own initiative. You should be an excellent communicator in one to one and group situations. Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues and develop effective working relationships.
Your experience will include the ability to draw on a broad range of catering related skills and knowledge and apply these to develop solutions which meet the needs of the business. You should have at least 2 years chef management experience in a prime cooking environment, plus a recognised craft catering qualification. You should be able to demonstrate excellent craft skills plus knowledge of dietary requirements relating to older people.
Ideally, you will hold a current Advanced Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards. Knowledge of current Health and Safety law and good practice is desirable.

This role will require an enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
This is a relief role, covering for absence and sickness at our homes in the area when required
