We need an experienced commercial contracts manager, preferably with a legal or QS type background, to support the team in Newcastle. The individual would need to be based there at least 3 days a week for a minimum 9 month engagement.
That period may well be extended dependent and could go permanent.
Essential Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills are essential. A thorough knowledge of contract law and an IT services/telecommunications background will be required. The individual will be used to working within complex and dynamic change programmes and can quickly assess and seek to mitigate commercial risk to the supplier.
Qualifications Legal and/or QS qualifications, background in claims analysis and disputes would be advantageous Ability to use and interpret quantitative data to support contractual claims and analyse client claims Ability to understand MS Project based IT programme delivery plans and assess contractual rights and liabilities and provide briefings to the business
Responsibilities Drafting and negotiation of Contract Changes and settlement agreements Preparation and submission of delay notices and compensation claims Rebuttal of client claims Production of risk analyses and legal summaries Liaison with key suppliers Capable of leading commercial negotiations
