Senior Developer – 3 months – London/Victoria (ASAP Start)
(MUST HAVE SITECORE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE FOR THIS POSITION) - ESSENTIAL
The senior developer works as part of the development team, providing a range of skills to ensure delivery of online services. The main objective of the role is to design and develop key components of the evolving website, extranets and other online assets, including the intranet. All development must be fully tested to ensure e-Government and W3C Double A requirements are met, and an understanding of the Government e-Gif and e-Government standards will be beneficial for this aspect of the role.
The content management system (CMS) underpinning the site is Sitecore version 5. The hosting of the web and intranet services is fully managed and supplied by a third party hosting supplier.
The role is varied and includes day to day maintenance and problem resolution activities alongside developing web-based applications through the use of ASP.NET, C#, XSLT, XML, SQL Server, Google search engine appliance and the Sitecore CMS.
Key duties:
Developing templates and database interfaces within the CMS using C#.Net, CSS, XSLT, XHTML, javascript and SQL
Providing direction and guidance to developer and other teams on the use of new web tools
Ensuring continued improvement of the visitor experience when using the website
Working with the website administrator to manage the functionality of the CMS - assigning permissions and monitoring workflow
Working with the project manager to assist in estimating, resourcing and timetabling for development activities
Working with the editorial team to provide expert advice for developing and delivering new features on the website
Assessing e-government and e-gif compatibility and accessibility of all internet products; working with partner agencies and third-party suppliers to ensure integration of all systems are fully tested

Knowledge of Sitecore version 5 Content Management System
