A senior finance officer is required in a Local Authority in East London. To provide finance support service at a senior level.
As the Senior finance officer will be required to organise and supervise finance &/or administrative staff. With the ability to use your finance skills in the application of organisational financial procedural & systems and to assist the organisation's line management in fulfilling their responsibilities, e.g. around budget management. Individual tasks will vary but will normally include income management, &/or, invoice management, budget monitoring & reporting, budget preparation, &/or statutory returns &/or grant claims.
Candidate Profile
·Preferred: NVQ Level 3 Accounting or BTEC in Business & Finance or AAT Qualified/Part Qualified or at minimum high level knowledge of Financial/Accounts gained through substantial experience
·Good working knowledge of Microsoft products.
·Experience in a finance or accountancy setting that spans the full financial year and responds to the years' changing demands (budget setting, closing etc).
·Experience of organising and directing the work of others.
·Organisational skills.
·Customer focused.
·Able to meet deadlines & works well under pressure.
·Numerate.
·Good written/verbal communication skills.
·Report writing skills
