A full time Senior Halls Officer is required in Wakefield, to start immediately for a 3 month contract.

The Senior Halls Officer will be based within the Events & Functions Team and will have the following duties & responsibilities:
1. Manage a flexible team of Public Halls Officers to ensure the efficient day to day management of buildings to provide quality venues that host a variety of events and functions
2. Supervise staff in the planning and organisation of events and functions at public halls, ensuring the best use of resources when preparing venues to the specification of customers and the Events and Functions Co-ordinator
3. Develop, monitor and manage procedures to ensure that all licensing requirements, entertainment, building safety and security standards are met at all public hall buildings
4. Effectively manage a bookings service at public halls by developing appropriate financial and non financial systems to maintain timely and accurate records, working alongside the Events and Functions Administration Team, as appropriate, to prepare regular performance reports for the Events and Functions Manager
5. Manage the function within budget by having effective financial systems in place to control income and expenditure, ensuring that all goods and services are purchased in-line with the procurement policy and procedure
6. Manage the security arrangements in the day to day management of the building during large functions and concerts

The Senior Halls Officer must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- NVQ Business Administration
- Manual handling
- Implementing systems for good budget monitoring and control
- Ability to develop effective systems and procedures.
- A high level of organisational and administrative skills
- Confident and approachable with a sensitive style
- Ability to establish good working relationships at all levels in the organisation
- A good communicator, able to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Operating within financial systems to appropriately record and manage cash transactions and invoiced payments
- IT skill including the use of Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
- Two years experience in a relevant work environment and/or professional qualification
- Supervising staff
