Our client, NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent are currently looking to recruit a Senior Lead Commissioner for Cardio-vascular on a permanent basis, reporting into the Head of Cancer, LTC and Therapies
The Senior Lead Commissioner for Cardio-vascular will be responsible for:
•the commissioning and improvement of all cardio-vascular services across Eastern & Coastal Kent PCT, including cardiac and stroke, to meet the needs of the local population.
• leading and managing a team of lead commissioners, coordinating and setting the direction, and have budgetary control for those areas. They will work closely with other lead commissioners responsible for relevant, associated commissioning areas.
•leading and co-ordinating all activities across the commissioning cycle from understanding the needs of the local population to ensuring that the appropriate level of services are delivered.
•the commissioning and performance of all cardio-vascular services, ensuring delivery of the PCT's strategic objectives, including local and national priorities, sustaining 18 weeks, achieving access targets, tackling health inequalities and improving health outcomes.
•developing a network of professionals including clinicians, providers and partners that can be leveraged in the pursuit of improved services for the patients and public
The Senior Lead Commissioner must have three or more years management experience within a commissioning role with a good track record of service improvement. Experience of budgetary control is also essential, along with an understanding of the complexity of a PCT with regards to its commissioning and service provider role.
