Main responsibilities Responsible for the management of an Integrated Care and Housing Scheme, which is designed to offer a professional service of care and support to older people to enhance their quality of life. This role includes a housing management responsibility, plus registration as manager of a domiciliary care service.

Summary of duties
1. Care Management
? To recruit a team of care staff within the scope of the care contract, in the Scheme following Anchor?s policies and procedures.
? To manage the team by ensuring support, supervision, development, appraisals and training are provided to enable staff to work within agreed standards.
?To work closely with Social Services and other professionals to enable tenants achieve their maximum potential.
?To promote effective communication with members of the Care Team, tenants and their families/friends and other professionals involved in the care of tenants
?To manage complaints in line with procedure.
?To ensure that care planning assessments and reviews for individual tenants are carried out effectively, and that any changes in the care needs of the tenants are identified, and reported to the relevant agencies.
?To provide a risk assessment for all new tenants, and existing tenants where appropriate, to ensure the health and safety of both the tenant and the care staff.
?To attend quarterly reviews with the care purchaser and any other meetings as appropriate.
?To ensure that the National Minimum Standards for domiciliary care services, plus all other quality standards and codes of practice are met, and that the service provided to the tenants is of the highest standard.
?To participate in the sleep in/on-call rota as appropriate
?To obtain and maintain registration as Manager of a domiciliary care service.
?To act as NVQ assessor/verifier as required. 2. Housing Management
?To ensure daily welfare calls are carried out to tenants, and respond to any emergency calls with appropriate follow up action.
?To welcome new tenants and introduce them to the services and facilities of the Scheme ensuring they are properly instructed in their use.
?To assist tenants with completion of benefit forms
?To promote effective working partnerships and promote a positive image of Anchor in the locality.
?To ensure the requirements of the Health and Safety and Housing legislation are met.
?To comply with Anchor?s policies and procedures.
?To contribute to the development of the Business Plan and manage the budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
?To undertake and ensure the proper administration, management and maintenance of the Scheme in accordance with standards and procedures.
?To manage the rental income for the Scheme, (including management of voids and arrears) and take responsibility for accounting and banking scheme monies.
?To undertake induction and other training, as required by Anchor and follow the guidance received.
?To answer telephone calls and deal with visitors to the scheme in a polite and courteous manner.
?To maintain the scheme as a pleasant, friendly and secure place to live.
?To maintain confidentiality in accordance with Anchor?s procedures.
?To manage Tenant support workers ensuring continuity of all services within the schemes you have responsibilities for.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
Experience
?Proven Scheme Management experience preferably with NVQ4 or RMA qualification. If you do not currently have your RMA qualification, you would be expected to attain this within the first year of this role.
?Experience of managing a budget and working to a Business Plan.
?Experience of working with and empathising with older people.
?Full understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Domicillary Care and their impact in care and management practice.
?Current knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and application of Health and Safety practice.
